Fortress Church of Saint Peter<\/strong><\/p>\n The mid-13th century church, symbol of the town of Lingueglietta, is a unique example of a religious building that was trasformed into a fortress at the time of the barbarian raids that plagued the western Ligurian coast in the mid-17th century. In its blend of religious architecture of the late Middle Ages and the military architecture of 1500, there is a mix of rare and striking beauty. The apse, in particular, which has been preserved intact, testifies to an ancient effort to make\u00a0 imposing stone walls. The interior has one nave, containing the original paving slabs.
