Have your wedding in the countryside: Bajardo – organize a romantic marriage in the Italian countryside – as a background there are the ruins of a medieval castle, framed by the mountains and the starry sky.
Situated at the top of the Valle Intemelia, the medieval village of Bajardo can be reached along a picturesque road lined with pines and chestnuts. It is located at 910 metres above sea level in an exceptional panoramic position between the sea and the Ligurian Alps.
Long a summer resort, the town has recently recovered its ancient heart that was destroyed by a ferocious earthquake on 23rd February 1887; they have been able to preserve the historic houses and return the most important buildings to their original beauty.
The church of San Nicolò
The church, built on the ruins of an ancient pagan temple dedicated to the god Abelio, was almost entirely destroyed in the 1887 earthquake. Today, with the sky as a roof and the lawn as a floor it is particularly suitable for holding concerts, weddings and all sorts of other special events. Next to the church is the stupendous terrace overlooking the Alps where you can go back in time and marvel at the magnificence of Nature while you admire the splendid panorama of the Maritime Alps.
